Welcome February! Celebrate Black History Month & Black Excellence With Us!

As we enter into this month, we are geared-up to bring you a wide variety of programs that's designed to get will ignite you mind and body. We believe in challenging the status quo and introduce new perspectives to our community and there's several programs/activities this month we hope you will take advantage of and join us in the fun of learning new things.

We know that physical fitness plays a vital role to our overall wellbeing. Current, national statistics shows that African Americans have a higher rates of diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease than other groups. African American women are nearly 60 percent more likely to have high blood pressure, as compared to non-Hispanic white women and nearly 15 percent have diabetes compared with 8 percent of whites. Also, over 16 percent (7 million) have reported mental illness over the past year.


With these numbers, it is imperative to incorporate some form of fitness to your daily routine. Here are five (5) benefits for just walking one mile a day.
